Views of our Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department graduates on the Department and the profession.
Our Graduates’ Stories

Graduation year: 2015
When I graduated from high school and was about to start university, I always had the desire to become a physiotherapist. Studying in Gaziantep was not something I was very close to considering, given the city I lived in. When the placement period came, I placed Hasan Kalyoncu University. My university life and where I have arrived since then has far exceeded what I had imagined. Throughout my university life I always wanted to choose sports physiotherapy. In this regard, my valued faculty members strengthened my references as much as they could, directed me to various clubs, and gave me the opportunity to do internships and observe clinical life. They have made a great contribution to where I am today. Beyond its contribution to my professional life, my university provided me with an environment in which I could build strong social relationships. For all my fellow students who will be under the roof of Hasan Kalyoncu University, I guarantee that you will have a family that will change both your social and academic perspectives.

I must admit that when I chose this department, I had no knowledge at all about the physiotherapy profession. At HKÜ I learned that being a physiotherapist is a profession that requires discipline and effort, and that also brings spiritual feelings to the person. I came out of the university I had chosen just to have a profession as an idealistic individual with a broad outlook, open to development and change. Throughout my university education, my teachers who supported and guided me were always like friends to me. They always made me feel the warmth of the HKÜ family. They helped me keep moving myself forward. Even after graduation, they continue their support without ever severing this bond.

I always had the desire to touch people’s lives and leave a mark. When I had to choose a profession after graduating from high school and before stepping into university, people who knew me well guided me toward physiotherapy and rehabilitation. It was not a very well-known profession at the time. However, once I researched it and gained knowledge, I understood that it was exactly right for me. The famous slogan of physiotherapists expresses exactly this: "a great movement with small touches". During my education at Hasan Kalyoncu University, I was able to see in every field how great differences are created with small touches. During my student years, I was given the opportunity to do internships and practice in every professional field I wanted. It was the period in which I fully learned myself and my areas of interest. I had clearly understood what I wanted to do. I also grasped that learning and knowledge have no limits. I understood that my education would not end here. My valued teachers were always in a position where I could get their opinions and consult them. I continue to pursue graduate education and, by starting to work within Hasan Kalyoncu University, I continue to advance my career step by step.

University years are one of the most important processes of student life. I feel very lucky to have spent this process at Hasan Kalyoncu University. It is an institution that lights the way for its students, both in terms of knowledge and social life. I am grateful that the support my teachers gave me during my university years has continued after my graduation. I am now honored to be part of the Hasan Kalyoncu University family. Hasan Kalyoncu University has added a great deal to me, and I assure you it will add a great deal to you as well.

At the time of choosing, I had never considered studying in Gaziantep, and I wrote only Hasan Kalyoncu University. Frankly, I had not thought about its future at all; when the results were announced, I was very upset that I would be studying in Gaziantep. However, after getting to know the school, the campus and especially the teachers in the department, I say that I am glad I studied at Hasan Kalyoncu University. Now that I am in my professional life, I realize even better that I was a student of a legendary faculty in the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation. I could not exchange the education I received for any other university. I thank all my teachers who had a hand in it.

They say that people with dreams have high expectations. Hasan Kalyoncu University is a university that meets people’s expectations at the highest level. I am happy to be a part of this university as well. During my student years, when I began to get to know myself and discover what field I wanted to specialize in and what I loved most, my valuable teachers enlightened me with their knowledge and experience and lit my way in every matter. Being able to continue under the same roof as an academic, after starting at university as a student, completing my master’s degree, starting my doctoral education and still continuing, is the most important professional development story that my department and university have added to me. Beyond professional progress, the campus life and social circle I experienced show that the university adds meaning to a person in many ways, not only in the professional field.

Since my childhood, the white coat has awakened a special feeling in me. My love for the coat and my desire to touch people’s lives and add meaning led me to physiotherapy. Just as important as choosing the profession was where I would receive this professional education. As a result of my research, I got to know HKÜ. From the moment I entered the campus, HKÜ became the focal point of my life. The academic knowledge I received from our highly valued, expert teachers, the equipment offered to us at school, the many contracted internship placements where we could see patients in every field, the solutions produced for every problem we had, and beyond that, a pair of hands you feel on your shoulder after graduation… Think of a university that argues that a university is not just a diploma, and that is always by your side in terms of career; that is HKÜ. It offers its students an environment where you can both realize your dreams, from social life to academic career, and find the warmth of a family. As a physiotherapist who still continues graduate education after my undergraduate studies, I say: "Good thing it’s HKÜ"…

Entering university was a new beginning in my life. I had no idea what kind of future awaited me. I am someone who sets goals for myself and does everything I can to achieve them. For this reason, Hasan Kalyoncu University always enabled me to get closer to these goals and to develop. It gave me the opportunity to adapt to innovations in the world. Thus I was able to develop myself both professionally and personally. Having graduated first in my department, I am now continuing as a master’s student. The quality of education at HKÜ and the professionalism of its instructors are the most important factors in my decision. In addition, HKÜ has been an opportunity for me to see different countries I always dreamed of, meet new people and gather unforgettable memories. Both while my education continued and after graduation, my university, where I have felt its support behind me in every matter, has been one of my best choices.

I chose the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation department with great enthusiasm. Hasan Kalyoncu University encouraged me to work with all my strength so that I could love and develop my department even more. With its highly valuable academic staff, it always enabled me to be innovative and entrepreneurial. I completed my undergraduate and master’s education here. Success is a journey, not a destination; I recommend it to all fellow students who intend to set out on this journey, in line with this principle.

Our university’s experienced academic staff added a great deal to me, both in terms of education and socially. I attended many symposiums, conferences and trainings. As a physical therapy department, the practical courses and the internships I completed prepared us for working life. Good thing it’s HKÜ.
